Ronald Balimwezo

Balimwezo Ronald Nsubuga, the current Mayor of Nakawa Division Urban Council in Kampala Capital City is an elected leader whose political career spans a period of over 20 years. Alongside politics, he has actively pursued his career as a civil engineer, holding a Master of Science in Civil Engineering “PLAN A”, of Makerere University. He has trained and mentored Engineers, technicians and artisans plus other professionals during his tenure as a lecturer in Kyambogo University for over a decade and a project designer and manager for various construction projects. Mayor Balimwezo has received many international endorsements, the most recent being selected by the US Government to participate in the prestigious “US, State and Local government for emerging African leaders” Program. He is also an honorary Ambassador of the Korean Community in Uganda. In recognition of his work of community Mobilization and environmental advocacy, he was recently appointed a Ugandan Ambassador for environment by the Minister of Water and Environment. Ronald, as well gives leadership to a chain of civil society organizations and corporate bodies and he is on the honorary committee of the Global Social Economy Forum 2018. He is one of Uganda’s high-ranking politicians, and he is the Founder of Balimwezo Community Foundation, a community based organization whose cardinal objective is to foster pro-poor and economically disadvantaged communities programs in Nakawa Division.
