Carine Buma
Professional Officer at ICLEI Africa
Carine Buma is a Climate and Energy professional, with about 3 years of experience working with multiple subnational governments in Africa and supporting them to spearhead innovative approaches in developing and implementing inclusive climate and sustainable energy strategies. Carine is a Professional Officer at ICLEI Africa; with a bachelor’s in petroleum engineering (BEng) from the Catholic University of Cameroon, Bamenda, and a Master’s in Applied Physics from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa (focusing on building integrated photovoltaic systems). She brings on board a wealth of experience from both the renewable and the non-renewable energy sectors.

Ichrak Klai
Arab Institute of Governance Consultant
Ichrak KLAI is a jurist specializing in public law, a consultant in the field of local governance and citizen participation, involved in civil society and a member of various associations, in particular the Arab Institute of Governance (AGI). She is a member of the Tunisian delegation in the climate negotiations. She participated in COP26 in Glasgow. She was hired as part of consultations with young people throughout Tunisia. She is very much interested in public affairs and the process of democratic transition. It is committed to the fight for a better world, a world where rights and freedoms are guaranteed and respected, and where citizenship is active, and the human being is the center of the universe. She was associated with the CoMun program of the GIZ (diagnosis project on the state of youth participation in 30 municipalities, action plan projects for young people, election stimulation project).

She is passionate about gender equality and women's empowerment, community mentoring and climate action, research, advocacy, management, and development. Her aspiration is to see a world free from gender bias and discrimination

Nabil BADRELDIN
Ministry of Local Development, Egypt
I am an Environmental Management expert and Solid Waste Management specialist, with 14 years of Experience in field of Environment. I started my career by working at ministry of environment as environmental researcher at the central laboratory. Afterwards, I ascended in positions until I held the position of Environmental Specialist at the minister’s office, and a member of the associate minister youth teamwork. I have experience from working in both governmental and private sector, and international projects as well, with an M.Sc. in Environmental management from Universidad de Cádiz (Spain) with excellence, and M.Sc. in Environmental Science from University of Bologna (Italy), and Post-graduate Diploma in Environmental management from Technical University of Dresden (Germany).
